Weather conditions were grey, cloudy and very windy. Nevertheless, Glostrup played a very good match and managed to capitalize on their good start, which resulted in a momentum that kept going through the innings.

Nordvest won the tos and decided to have a bowl. Nordvest cashed in on a chance in the 2nd over by removing Iftikhar with a catch at mid-wicket. In came Sammi, who batted with Bilal and managed to build a partnership of 36 runs before Sammi was caught at deep fine leg. The pitch had an unusual high bounce which GCC were struggling with, however this didn’t keep them from adapting and fighting. In came Fraz who along with Bilal managed a partnership of 35 runs, before Bilal having to depart after scoring a solid 32 runs. AJ was the next batsman to enter at 73-3 in the 16th over. A lot of singles, doubles and boundaries were on the menu for the next 11 overs where AJ and Fraz managed to build a great partnership of 66 runs, which consisted a half century (54) by Fraz. Unfortunately, short after completing a brilliant half-century, Fraz had to see himself beaten by the bowler.

This didn’t slow down the scoring rate as AJ kept going with good running between the wickets, and by capitalizing on overthrows. AJ had to depart after scoring a clever and beautiful innings of 42 runs. GCC managed to score 91 runs in the last 10 overs (valuable contributions came from Sameer = 28, Abhishek = 9 and Khurram = 12) and ended with a total of 214 after 35 overs.

GCCs bowling started significantly well by Sameer and Sheraz. Both were economical and managed to pick up wickets and didn’t let the Nordvest batsman settle. Sameer ended with commendable figures of 5overs-12runs-2wickets, and Sheraz bowled a full 7 over quota, giving only 19 runs and picking up 3 wickets – including 2 wicket maiden overs. Sameer was replaced with Abhishek who bowled 2 overs, giving 4 runs and 1 wicket – including 1 wicket maiden over.

AJ did not fall on his heels after his brilliant innings, and ran out Nordvest after a remarkable fielding effort at cover – a direct throw in the wickets saw the Nordvest batsman having to depart. Fast bowlers were thereafter rested and in came a bit of spin bowling from both ends. Arsalan started his spell brilliantly by taking 2 wickets in his first over (including a beautiful catch by Sammi at long on, and Hammad in the slips). Arsalan continued his good form in his second over and managed to capitalize on a wicket here as well (by luring the batsman to come out of his crease, beating him and wicketkeeper Bilal excellently stumping the batsman) and ended with figures of 2overs-3runs-3wickets.Nordvest 43 all out after 17 overs.
